  • Late Valentine's Chocolate

“This story was related to The First Night Out @ R.S.V.P.; however I think it’s special enough to be separated.”

Every girl dreams a wonderful gift on Valentine’s Day, and so do I. Even in Sheffield, no boy friend, I still was expecting a surprise.

On lecture, Sachin asked me out at night, and I accepted it with pleasure. After lecture, he insisted to accompany me back to Unite, where I stayed. Unite was only 5-minute walking distance from the management hall. On the way I could feel he would like to tell me something but we just kept silence. I found him carried a bag which was quite unusual. I seldom saw him carried anything like that. He normally walked in the lecturing hall with piece of papers and a pen at hand. “What is inside?” “Would it be something for me?” I wondered.

    “Here is Unite.”
I stopped in front of the reception and gave him a hint to leave.
“This is for you. Happy Valentine’s Day!”
He suddenly opened his bag and took out two well-packaged chocolates.
    “Well, thank you.”
I was so surprised. This guy seemed to have an unknown power to see through my minds. But why now? It was 13th of March, one month after Valentine’s Day.
“I should have given these to you on 14th of February, but I was afraid that you would reject. I’ve carried them with me since then, seeking a good chance .I think it’s a perfect timing now. ”
“Thanks, and see you tonight.” I said.

“I got my Valentine’s chocolate!” I yelled to Kim.
“Valentine’s chocolates ? Who gives you? Is that Indian guy?” She asked.
“Yes, and guess what? I will go out with him tonight.” I said.

I carefully unwrapped the packaging papers after returning my room. I starred at those chocolates as if they were Picasso’s masterpieces.

I don’t have sweet teeth, but I do have a sweet guy coming in my life.

  • First Night Out @ R.S.V.P.

Sachin is from my MBA batch, but to be honest, I have never paid attentions to him until the second semester.

He used to linger around me in class and if I was not seated around with my “sisters” on lectures, he would take every chance to seat beside or behind me. Even he on purpose approached me, he didn’t take the real actions to invite me out or ask my personal email address.

One day on “Human Resource Management” lecture, I was late and had no choice but to seat in front of him. He passed a note inbetween and asked me my email and my Chinese name. I was so curious about his next move and without surprise, we started to play”passing notes” on lectures and “you got a mail” after lectures every now and then.

13th of March, 2003, he at first time invited me out on John's lecture; of course, in terms of written note. “Ok, why not”, I said to myself at full excitement. We met later around 7:00 in the evening, heading for city centre looking for somewhere to seat. We entered R.S.V.P. a typical British bar. It was too early for revelry but perfect for first dating. We chose the second floor, a seat for two against the window. I, on the black coat and red gloves, was quite nervous and uneasy, but I knew subconsciously this night would reverse my life.

He looked anxious too but was brave enough to initiate the conversations; thought we both had to make lots of efforts to make each other understand, we were so enjoying as if we were old friends. The topic was not limited; albeit night was over. He sent me home around 11.Outside was so windy and frigid, but my heart was burning.

We fell in love at 13th of March, 2003 @ R.S,V.P.

    p.s.
There was a twist on that night. I have to refer Kim, my love consultant, and truly, her encouragement was a vital tribute to ellasachin.
By coincidence, Kim also had the first night out with a guy on the same day. We made a deal to give each other an “alerting call” in the middle of the date; if the date was in a mess, we had an excuse to take an early leave.

Luckily, this protective mechanism had no roles to play on both of us.

  • The Very Beginning

The story started from a game every girl longing for loves may have done-imagining Mr. Right.:p

It was a typically frozen and windy season in UK (Jan, 2003), and I (Ella) was bugged up with endless assignments and papers. The first semester was over and I just came back from Taipei, staying in Unite, nowhere to go. Before Christmas, I finished a dreadful relationship, and was eager to find someone to fill in the empty place. One day during a casual meeting with friends, Yashin (one TW girl) disclosed the “secret” to find Mr. Right, which was claimed to be working so well.

The secret was simple: writing the criteria of your ideal prospect down, as detailed as possible, and then within three months, this person will come to you.

Sounding so weird!! Since I had nothing to do except boring studies, I decided to give it a try. That night, I carefully considered what kind of person I’d like to fall in love and live together. After finishing this long list, I was too excited and immediately called Kim (my best friend in UK; also an imp actress in this play) up to share this with her. She couldn’t stop but laughed at the other end of the phone, she also “kindly” suggested me to flush this list down to toilet.

So what? Would it be working? I carried this hope with me and out of surprise; it was indeed working in no time.

    P.S.
    1. My darling, Sachin, came to my life after two months, and he was exactly the one on my list.

    2. The imp. list:

    4. Well family , nice parents
    5. Kind to pets(dogs)
    6. Good job with satisfactory payments
    7. Willing to share thoughts, deep-thinkers, enjoy reading
    8. Enjoy traveling
    9. Surprising makers
    10. Complete, intact body functions
    11. Older than me by at most 6 years old

  • Ellasachin-the-blessed

Ella and Sachin met in Sheffield,UK, 2003. Both don't believe in the fate; however, the destiny exerts powers on them.

They have been in deep love for 27 months but half of the time they seperated thousands miles away (Taipei/Mumbai).

Their love stories make people curious and nevertheless inspire couples suffering from long-distance affairs.

Ella and Sachin decide to wirte their stories down as a memory along with the motives to step forwards.

Happiness, sarrow, joy, and bitterness.. all tastes mix up,making this relationship as delectable as possible forever.
