  • A dream walk: Around Sheffield

When we decided to meet again on Saturday (the 16th), the comfort level was great and Ella had insisted to see her friend (the same one !!!!!!!!!!!!! :) When I met Kim, She had come with a plaster on her hand and hand tied to her neck. I knew her since before as she used to be with Stella/ Sharon.. (our MBA batch) and I had hardly any difficultly to get friendly with her. Ella and myself decided to walk down to the Botanical garden of Sheffield and from there, our talks led us to even further to Hunters bar.

The city of Sheffield is outstanding in the National park's aspect. The whole city itself appears to be in a huge national park and within the city, again there are many small parks. During summer, having walks in Sheffield national parks with Ella - it couldn't have been better.

Ella was looking as pretty as always in a white T-Shirt with long sleeves. From her dog (CC) to her undergraduate school, we talked on every conceivable topic. Finally when we were enough with walking, we found a lonely bench in forest from where, apart from the dark woods (as it was late evening) we could see one tiny road with cars running with head lights on at a distance. The darkness of the night was getting on the forest and bungalows of the Sheffield outskirts. Silence everywhere and we shared a lot many things to each other without uttering a word.(We didn’t forget to revisit this bench while the time to leave Sheffield came by.)

The return walk to the hunters bar, the pizzeria with the British interiors, our going back from there to the Unite, the moon light at the ground opp. the Unite.. All appears to be magical today!! And I wish, I could live that day all over again...

  • Start of the new Era: Ella

This story begun much earlier than March 13, 2003 !! The day when I sent first mail to Ella (Jan-Feb), no one could have ever thought that the story would go so far as it is today. The yahoo greeting to Ella was having some weird picture on it and I wrote down that "Pls. don't put too much of your brain to analyze the meaning of the picture above. This mail comes casually to check the validity of your email id!! " . Then I got reply from her and my another greeting followed... then another .. another .. one more .. Until I sent a Chinese greeting (assuming it's a friendship greeting) and it turned out later that it was a marriage proposal in Chinese!!!!!

So a long time in silence followed from her during which, I was impatient and frustrated to change the status quo.

During the lectures as she was surrounded with a lot of girls who were basically my good friends and had no clue about the online business we had carried out in between, I had hardly any chance of getting along with her during the lectures.

The only lecture was of finance when I could possibly be with her. (Nonetheless there were two annoying guys who used bug me in that task!) Still, got lucky enough to make it happen one day and asked her on a piece of paper "Would u like to come for a booze in the eve ?". at the end of the lecture she agreed to meet at 8.00 p.m.

Although she has mentioned that, we arrived at RSVP very casually.. in fact, It was all pretty much planned by me. I had even decided upon the seats. In that evening, Ella appeared confident (and mostly I too), we talked a lot , out of which a major part was from Ella. Her friend (later my beloved friend and a gr8 smoking partner: Kim) was apparently on the date as she has explained, and Ella was periodically thinking if that was the best time to call her!!

We hardly run out of topics contrary to my fears. The music in the pub was kool, the ambience was exciting, although a lot of people in the pub, the place where we were was still romantic. With Ella’s talks and the beer, the night turned out to be a beautiful experience. I somehow controlled the temptation to pull Ella's cheeks all the time while she was speaking. That night will remain in my most cherishable memories of life.
